Maiko Sato is a freelance art and museum educator. She has worked at the Contemporary Art Center, Art Tower Mito, and Tama Art University in Japan. In 2021, Maiko was awarded the Agency for Cultural Affairs Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists. This grant enabled her to move to the Netherlands to research topics of inclusivity and diversity in the art field and museum education. In addition to her research, she has also interned at the Fifth Season in Amsterdam, where she conducted an Artist in Residency program at a psychiatric hospital. Currently, she is completing her master’s degree in Applied Museum and Heritage Studies at Reinwardt Academy, Amsterdam University of Arts.
