今回は、パリで開催中の展覧会です。

A smart exhibition, in these times of depression, when everybody is stuck between getting depressed and trying to find solutions, it was nice seeing such a positive approach to fashion.
Parisian Women during the second war had to be smart and strong to keep their humor high. They still wanted to be seductive, elegant and beautiful, for this they had to queue hours at the shops to be able to buy some fashion, food or to find some magazines. They had to deal with curfew, prohibition and penuries but they were so inventive, using paper, straw, wood, tire.. all kind of material to do some home made accessories. Amazing results.
景気が低迷して、気分が落ち込み、誰もがその出口を探そうとするときに、こうしたポジティヴで賢明なファッションの展覧会を見ることができるなんて、どれほど素晴らしいことでしょう。
第 二次世界大戦中、パリの女性たちは、自分たちのユーモアを高く保つために、賢く、たくましくなくてはなりませんでした。それでも彼女たちは、魅惑的であ り、エレガントで、美しくあることを望んだのです。ファッション用品や食料を手に入れるため、また雑誌を見つけるために、何時間も店の前に並ばなければな りませんでした。また外出禁止令や禁酒法、貧困といった問題と闘わなければならなかったにも関わらず、彼女たちはとてもクリエイティヴでした。紙や麦わ ら、木、タイヤなど、あらゆる資材を使って、手製のアクセサリーを作りました。完成度は驚くべきものです。

The Galliera Museum is the fashion museum of Paris, and The Jean
Moulin Museum is the museum of the Resistance and war, they decided to
put the exhibition together, so there is nothing fashionable about the
venue itself, but the objects shown there are treasures.
ガリエラ美術館は、パリのファッション専門の美術館で、ジャン・ムーラン博物館の方は、レジスタンスと戦争の博物館です。２つの博物館が協力しあい、前者 の所蔵品を後者で展示しているため、会場自体はファッショナブルではありませんが、展示されている物は、目を瞠るものばかりです。
